DAY 1 Photos
DAY 1: Filming at Phil's flat in Eaglestone. This is where our film's main character lives. Our plan was to get all the flat scenes shot on this day, but we ran into difficulties which started to eat up our shooting time. The cameras and lenses took some time to get used to, we had to dress the set, get some heat-proof gels for the lights, and try to get our director to move faster and stop 'faffing' over the shots (allegedly). Phil was good enough to let us come back on Friday to shoot the scenes we didn't quite manage.

We now have our shop location confirmed with legally binding contract! We were able to secure three hours of filming time AFTER the shop has closed, which should give us enough time to get everything done, though we do have provision to run over if necessary. Today was our big production meeting before shooting starts. A run-through of set etiquette, health and safety, and the final production schedule (...until it gets changed by unforeseen circumstances!).
Film-making can be a frustrating business. We are still in the process of trying to get a shop location for one of the key scenes in our film (having been let down by a client at the last moment). Hopefully this will be resolved in the next day or two, but in the meantime we have finalised all the locations for shooting the film and will start filming in earnest on Wednesday 23rd July!
Some location shots
We spent yesterday afternoon with Kate Sutton at Penkat Studios in Milton Keynes and had a great opportunity to learn more about the industry. Kate is being very generous with her time and support for our project. Most of the equipment we are using to film Every Single Penny is being provided by Penkat.
Rehearsals continued today with another read-through. Our team also spent some time at the SAE Institute in Oxford having some lessons in cinematography.
Saturday afternoon was spent at Stantonbury Campus reading through the script with our actors, and giving the crew a chance to settle into their roles. Here are a few stills from the session:
Here is a rundown of the team we have put together for our new production:
